Cooperative Model
We configured Incremental as a not for profit cooperative to expand access to good design and embed the culture of collaboration and community in every aspect of our work.
New Tavern Fort Consultation
Our projects are proof of what is possible.
One of the projects that Incremental has self funded is the support to a local community group trying to activate an open tarmac area in their community.
Our no equity share, workers cooperative structure, and governing documents mean that our end of the year profit does not go to private gain, it goes to supporting the community and climate action work we love to do.
This allows us to be activists ourselves and address the practicalities behind climate change mitigation, material (re)use, and participatory design.
Our worker members vote on the application of these funds.
Please consider partnering with us or donating to support our mission.
Architecture has consistently been subject to a culture of egocentric directors, long working hours, and unfair pay structures.
Being worker’s cooperative is our way of creating a more ethical and democratic working culture. It is focussed on sharing of responsibilities, credit, fairness, and collaboration.
We work under the 7 cooperative principles:
1. Voluntary & Open Membership
2. Democratic Member Control
3. Member Economic Participation
4. Autonomy & Independence
5. Education, Training & Information
6. Cooperation Among Cooperatives
7. Concern for Community
