Developing the UK’s first regenerative settlement

Bowden Pillars Future are developing the UK’s first regenerative settlement in South Devon. Set on 120 acres of farmland.  This project explores regenerative eco-village masterplanning as a way of rethinking how settlements relate to land, community and ecology. Developed as a living system, the project brings together housing, food production, shared spaces and ecological restoration to support long-term resilience and wellbeing.

Understanding and working with the land has been an essential element of this project from the beginning. These drawings communicate some of the process we have gone through to learn the land and work with it:

Collaboration, Co-operatives and Sociocracy

Working in collaboration with fellow cooperative Transition by Design, we are working as part of a holistic design team to bring together the high aspirations and dream of the client team, whilst grounding it in the delivery of a housing scheme.
